Using AI in Accounting Education
Colleagues,
Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a core expectation across the accounting profession. Our students will enter workplaces where AI supports audit, tax, advisory, and data analytics, and as educators, we have a responsibility to prepare them to use these tools thoughtfully, ethically, and effectively.
To ensure the Accounting Educators’ Journal remains aligned with these developments, we are placing particular emphasis this year on manuscripts that examine the integration of AI into accounting education, especially work that reflects classroom implementation and evidence of student learning.
We welcome submissions such as classroom-tested studies, instructional cases or simulations, teaching notes on responsible AI use, and innovative course or curriculum designs that prepare students for AI-enabled roles.
We are also expanding our reviewer pool and invite colleagues with interest or experience in AI-related pedagogy to participate. Reviewer involvement offers early insight into emerging practices and helps shape how AI is introduced across accounting programs.
If you are currently experimenting with AI in your courses, we encourage you to consider submitting your work or volunteering as a reviewer.
Thank you for your continued commitment to preparing students not only for today’s profession, but for the one they will help lead.
Warm regards,
Mark Friedman
